lyrics

they gave me an example
just a sliver of a sample
something for me to go on
something to believe
a simple explanation
a quick manipulation
that was how it started
that's how they got me

i've stopped understanding
it feels so, so undermining
i don't know what they want from
what do they want from
they want from me

i cannot breathe
i cannot breathe
inside the pyramid

i had my own expectations
once upon a time
that every step i take
wouldn't be a step behind
they laid out our limitations
and we're supposed to obey them
to step out on our own
would be to betray them

codependent, not independent
codependent, not independent
codependent inside the pyramid

there's no room to grow
there's only room for one at the top
there's no room to grow
there's only room for one at the top

about

Fetal Pig was formed in 1991 in Des Moines, Iowa by Guitarist/Vocalist Dan Hutchison and bassist Mike Glenn. Shortly after, ... more Dan’s brother Jeff joined the band on drums. After several line-up changes, the band released a self titled EP in 1995, before disbanding. In July 2010, Fetal Pig returned with a new line-up consisting of core members, Dan & Jeff with Chuck Hoffman taking over on bass. less
